Upon completion of the program, teachers employed in high needs areas as identified in the TEACH Grant program and other existing programs from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board may be eligible for loan forgiveness. Check with the financial aid office to see which loans and programs qualify for forgiveness for teachers in critical shortage areas.
Yes the stipend is paid to participants selected for participation in TRP-CSA the program. Each student also receives a netbook computer.
Yes, applicants must be admitted into the Graduate College and successfully complete selection requirements for admission into the TRP-CSA.
The project was funded to produce teachers for math, science, and special education who will also earn a Master’s degree within 14 months. An individual who already has a masters degree but is not certified to teach and has never taught may be recruited and subsequently earn a second master's degree as a result of going through the residency program.
